ULTIMATEOVERNIGHT.COM’S
STORY
UltimateOvernight.com
began in 2006 with two pilots in ground school and one question, “What are we
going to do with our spare time on the road?” They looked to the
Internet, colleagues, friends and were surprised to find that there was not a central location for airline crews to share this information. They broke out the yellow pad and began
UltimateOvernight.com. Lovingly
referred to as “UO.”
Over the next
year they would brainstorm, ask questions, and truly get to know the people
they were working for. Then one
day while at lunch in Denver, they realized the first service UO would perform. Finding local businesses offering local experiences, negotiating a crew discount and promoting it!
Since they set
their sights on becoming negotiators the team grew, funding was secured, and
the dream came alive. August 1,
2008 UltimateOvernight.com – Beta was launched and the next step of the journey
began.
Dave and Stu do a lot of work on their overnights - moving the hotel room table to the window, they open their laptops and appreciate the free wireless. Perhaps it’s the “ultimate” irony
that they are layover specialists and spend “most” of their time in their make shift
hotel offices. As you’ll often
hear them say in reference to their colleagues, “It’s all about them!”
That’s the story
of the company known as UO. A
service growing with the sole purpose of finding new and innovative ways to
better quality of life for laying over crews and truly giving back to aviation's hard-working crewmembers! On behalf of
Dave and Stu, welcome and enjoy!
Dave’s Bio
Hello fellow crew, I'm Dave and this is my story.
I am a co-founder of UO and work as the Director of Marketing and Business Development. The son of an United Airlines
pilot, I have been involved in aviation since birth. Growing up, I traveled extensively and
more so when I went to college. Attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Flight Safety
International, and Metropolitan State College of Denver, I graduated with a
BS in Aviation Technology, Fall 2004.
My career took me from the Colorado Rockies to southeast Alaska, the
Caribbean and Cape Cod before I accepted a position with Skywest Airlines and settled in Denver, Colorado. My experience on the road has taught me many lessons, the most
enlightening being that "the small stuff" holds the greatest potential to better our lives.
I am driven to make UltimateOvernight.com not just a website, but an experience. One that brings crewmembers closer to family, friends and colleagues. Raises the spirits of those that have been disillusioned, and inspires the next generation to go after their dreams of flight and helps them to get there. Thank you for the opportunity to work on your behalf to accomplish these goals!
I'm Dave Miller wishing you the Ultimate Overnight!
Stu’s Bio
Hello everyone. My name is Stu and this is my story.
I was born and raised in the small town of Perham,
Minnesota. There, I played the role of a farmer until I graduated high
school. After high school I joined the army reserve as an infantryman. They like to call it, “straight leg
11-B.”
I moved
to Oklahoma a few years later to pursue a flying career. I learned to fly
and earned a degree at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since graduating Spartan, I have worked hard to make good
use of my education and talent in trying to recognize
what this unique profession has to offer.
UltimateOvernight is the newest chapter in my life. Started
in the fall of 2006 on the way to ground school, Dave and I
thought it would be a good idea to create a resource for flight crews to see
what opportunities existed on overnights through the eyes of their peers. UltimateOvernight.com was born, and is now in its infancy. I believe by working together we can bring welcome change
to our overnights and have fun seeing our world. After all, our job is to
travel. So let’s get out there, have some fun, and remember, UO is just getting started.
I’m Stu wishing you the Ultimate Overnight!
